A blasphemous exploration into the power of choice.
On a stormy night, a man who isn’t a doctor waits in a hotel room that isn’t very nice for a girl who isn’t what she seems. Her request may threaten his understanding of choice and alter his world for better or worse. By turns playful and blasphemous, the conversation builds to a decision that hinges on belief in oneself and a human’s right to choose.
Larry, chapter 13, verse 2: “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers…”
“The script by Tracy Hoida is very smart, funny, engaging and succinct… LARRY 13:2 is an extremely well-written story, with compelling performances by two talented actors, and expertly directed.”

“ Hoida's "Be Not Forgetful" reads quick but sticks with you. It is rich with playful dialogue and serious themes, a celebration of what people can become when able to choose what to do with their body. This play is a masterful blending of religious allusions, medical dilemmas, and dark comedy. ” -Daniel Repp, playwright and lyricist
The 40-minute fringe festival offering was later developed into the full-length script, Be Not Forgetful. The script won the National Partners of the American Theatre Playwriting Award (NAPAT) in 2021.

On May 1st, 2020, a staged zoom reading of BE NOT FORGETFUL was streamed on Facebook and Youtube.
An angel goes to a back-alley abortion doctor to have her wings surgically removed and opens his eyes to the privilege he has as a human.
Months later, her health deteriorates and they come to blows over the value of mortal life and her desire to embrace the eventual end of all human existence.
What begins as a simple request evolves into a confrontation over the power of choice and our ability as humans to define who we are.
The development of this play at the time of this reading was aided greatly by the CMU Working with Dramaturgs mini-course in the Fall of 2019. Special thanks to dramaturg Elle Faith Norman.

A new tragicomedy about life and love at the end of the world.
For some reason, the world has ended, well… more or less. Archie, a strange young woman, has been exiled and abandoned in a dead city. She passes her time by reading, scavenging, and burning the bodies she finds as she transverses the wasteland.
With jars full of ashes as her only friends, things are going surprisingly well for Archie… until she finds another body that may actually be alive.
Originally written for Serials 4: Thunderdome 2 in 2015, Archie and the Ashes returned to the Know Theatre of Cincinnati as a full-length production.
Directed by Alice Flanders and starring Erin Ward, Robert Carlton Stimmel, and Lormarev Jones, this tragicomic look at human nature at the end of the world is a wholly original story that just might make you look at love and life in a whole new way.
