Tracy Hoida is a trans nonbinary person living in Brooklyn, NY. They are a playwright, screenwriter, and theatrical artist focused on exploring identity and equality through fantastical realism and slipstream science fiction. They are also a vocal advocate of civil and human rights including but not limited to transgender rights and bodily autonomy for all genders. They received their MFA in Dramatic Writing from Carnegie Mellon University in 2021 and their BA in Theatre Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in 2011. Their play BE NOT FORGETFUL won the National Partners of the American Theatre (NAPAT) Playwriting Award in 2021, their screenplay THE SPACE ABOVE US won a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation in 2020, and their pilot script THE BUG WITCH won a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation in 2021. Other honors include an invitation to participate in the National Playwriting Program at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in 2020 and 2021 and their fringe festival production of LARRY 13:2 being named one of the Most Memorable Moments On Stage by the Cincinnati Enquirer in 2017.
